A contract clause under the Federal Acquisition Regulation, placed in Uniform Contract Format Section I (Contract clauses).
When it applies
Required by 25.1101(a)(1)(i): Buy American applies to domestic supply acquisitions the trade-agreement clauses do not displace — small business set-asides (exempt from trade agreements at any value), or unrestricted buys below the Free Trade Agreement floor. At or above that floor, 52.225-3 (FTA) or 52.225-5 (WTO GPA) governs instead.
